Clementine QAL Finish!!!

Eeekkk!!!  I am so excited!!!!   It's the final month of the Clementine Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.   Which means I now get to share my finished Clementine quilt!!!  And I just love, love, love the way it turned out ;)

The setting for this quilt was so unique and so great!! The pattern for finishing can be found here ;)   The sashing on the smaller blocks realy made them look like they are on point, but you still get the ease of piecing the blocks together in rows.  So fun!!   And I loved that the design called for a second background print as it really make the blocks pop!!

I used Farmer's Daughter Fat Quarters by Lella Botique for Moda in my blocks, and I just love the beautiful color's and prints.   I especially love having the same 4 colors represented in each block as I feel like that really tied each of the blocks together.   And I used a beautiful and soft tan script print for the second background and it is just the perfect finish!!!

I had so much fun piecing these blocks each month.  Especially the smaller blocks, those were some tiny pieces going together and it is always fun to challenge oneself with some tiny piecing!!!   And each of the block designs were just so great with so much movement and now to see them all together is just fantastic!!!

When it came time to quilt it, I decided to just keep it simple yet elegent, so it was the all over Loose Feather for the win!!   This is truly becoming one of my favorite designs to quilt.  It is so relaxing to quilt and it leaves a gorgeous texture and design when you are done.  Just so pretty!!!

And that is my finished Clementine Quilt!!!!  It finished at 70" x 90" so it will be a great twin size bed cover or a wonderful quilt to snuggle up with :)    And this Clementine Quilt will soon be packed off and headed to Salt Lake to be donated to the Festival of Trees to help raise funds for Primary Children's Hospital in honor of my sweet nephew who is growing like a weed and a happy little boy thanks to the wonderful care here received there in the first months of his life :)   It is always so great to get to do what I love, and have it make a small bit of difference in the world :)

I just loved getting to be a part of this amazing Clementine Quilt Along!! Be sure to pop on over to the Jolly Jabber to see more amazing Clementine Quilt Finishes :)   And a huge thank you to the Fat Quarter Shop for having me along for this incredible QAL!!!  I am already looking forward to next years Annual Charity Quilt Along!!!

And that's all for today :)  And I just have to say, it feels so great to be back at my sewing machine and finishing up projects!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!

  11. I was considering doing this sew along but wasn’t sure about a sampler quilt and how all the block would come together.....yours looks fantastic!! Looks as if it was planned out from the beginning. You have inspired me to go ahead and try a sampler, block of the month quilt :)
Someone will be luck to get your beautiful quilt.
