Classic Christmas Quilt & Tutorial

Today I am super excited to be sharing a new Moda Bake Shop Tutorial!!!!  I originally made it for Christmas in July, but the Moda Quilt Along was going in July, so this is now Christmas in August, and that's just as fun right!!!  Here is the quilt . . . It's called Classic Christmas  and I just love it!!!!

You all now that I just love stars, and Christmas and Stars just go together so well.  So I set out to design something that just had that Classic Christmas feel to it, and simply patchwork mixed with stars was just the right fit ;)  And it is oh so much fun to  make and comes together fast with no-waste flying geese and fun four patches.

And if your going to make a Classic Christmas quilt, you need classic Christmas fabric right.   And nothing says Classic Christmas like Fig Tree Quilt's new Christmas Figs fabric line for Moda.   It just has that wonderful classic red and green and the prints are just so great.  It really is just the perfect fit for this quilt ;)

When it came time to quilt it, I decided on a favorite all over swirl.  I just love how it adds so much movement with all of that wonderful patchwork.  And of course, my favorite 402 So Fine was the perfect blend with all of these fabrics so that all that patchwork still pops!!

I truly had so much fun making this quilt :)  And you better believe I listed to Christmas Music the whole time I was making it,  So fantastic!!!  There's just nothing quite like a Christmas quilt to snuggle in and make you feel so warm and cozy.    And there's still lots of time for you to make your own!!!

And that is Classic Christmas!!!  I hope you love it as much as I do!!!  You can find the complete and free Step by Step Tutorial on how to make this 71" x 71" throw size stunner at the Moda Bake Shop, right here ;)    And if you make your own, I would love to see it!!!  Send me an email at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or post it on social media with #happyquiltingwithmc or add it to my Flickr Group ;)  I can't wait to see all of your Classic Christmas quilts ;)

Thanks for popping in today and each and every day!!!   I truly feel blessed each day to be part of such an amazing industry and to get to share it with so many wonderful quilty friends!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!!
