ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about hand stitching. I like certain types of embroidery work..in limited amounts. I will occasionally hand stitch a binding. But generally I prefer using the machine for everything.

I've been doing more small projects with the shutdown of life lately as I can take it with me when I babysit my grandchildren who are out of school or their usual sitters are quarantined. I also like regular embroidery, EPP and needle-turn applique but wool embroidery IS my favorite---right now---lol.

ReplyDeleteDon't do as much hand stitching as I used to. I am happy to hand stitch bindings on, I enjoy the calming motion and the slower progress but I miss embroidery. Now I crochet to keep my hands busy. All the little thread stitching just keeps getting harder and harder to see.

ReplyDeleteI just started hand sewing. My hand sewing use to be limited to hems and bindings. Since being in Quarantine I have taken up hand sewing historical clothing and have started my first hand pieced quilt. It is far from perfect but I figure by the time the world goes back to "normal" I should be quite good at hand sewing.
