  11. I have mixed feelings about hand stitching. I like certain types of embroidery work..in limited amounts. I will occasionally hand stitch a binding. But generally I prefer using the machine for everything.

  26. My favorite hand-stitching is wool embroidery. I've been doing more small projects with the shutdown of life lately as I can take it with me when I babysit my grandchildren who are out of school or their usual sitters are quarantined. I also like regular embroidery, EPP and needle-turn applique but wool embroidery IS my favorite---right now---lol.

  29. I am just okay with hand stitching. Sometimes my handstitching looks messy, but I try so very hard to be neat and tidy. NOW.... embroidery. Oh gosh. I try. I am not perfect with embroidery either. I just get by, making a label for a quilt.

  36. Don't do as much hand stitching as I used to. I am happy to hand stitch bindings on, I enjoy the calming motion and the slower progress but I miss embroidery. Now I crochet to keep my hands busy. All the little thread stitching just keeps getting harder and harder to see.

  119. I used to hand piece small blocks, like drunkard's path and flower garden. Since I'm older, my hands don't tolerate it for very long at a time. Now that I'm retired, I am using my stash much faster machine stitching. I already get Green Fairy newsletter and I am a regular customer. They have great sales!

  128. Love hand quilting, but have to be careful to space out as I have bad carpal tunnel. The one I loved hand quilting the most was a quilt celebrating Paris...I put hundreds of hours into hand quilting the whole quilt, and gave it to my daughter. It turned out so gorgeous. Since being in Quarantine I have taken up hand sewing historical clothing and have started my first hand pieced quilt. It is far from perfect but I figure by the time the world goes back to "normal" I should be quite good at hand sewing.
