  16. When I was a kid, we'd go in the car to a drive-in movie outside. I honestly can't remember the first one I saw in a theater. I do remember seeing The Blob with my brother when I was in 4th grade. My mom was shopping, and she left us in the theater. I was so scared, I kept running out. My brother would drag me back in, and he finally sat on me to keep me from leaving.

  26. I don’t remember the first movie I saw in a theater but my mother tells a story of me saying “kitty kitty” in a very tense part in the movie Ann Frank. The Germans were searching the house. the family hiding had a cat that was walking across a fireplace mantle with nick knacks. I broke the silence.

  47. Kathy, I can't remember the first movie I saw in a theater. This was when we had a theater downtown on Main Street. My parents would tell stories when they were young and the theater would give away dishes to collect to make a set when you bought a ticket.

  52. The first movie I remember was a horror film called The Thing. My parents assumed I would be asleep before it got bad. I was so terrified I wouldn’t get off the floor hiding behind the seats in front of us. I was probably in 1st grade at the time. I’,m 75 and still afraid of the dark and blame it on that movie.

  61. I really had to think about this one. I believe it was Snow White. But the one I remember the most was when I was about 10 and we rode the bus downtown to watch The Sound of Music. I loved that movie and riding the bus....amazing.

  63. The first movie I remember seeing at an indoor theater was "Sound of Music", it's still one of my faves! In the summer, our family went to the drive-in on weekends and there were some animated films-but all I remember was the window-mounted speakers and snacks from the kiosk ;)

  74. wow that was a long time ago so I will just mention one that impressed me when I was young. "How the West was Won" on a cinematic curved screen in Denver. The wagon train seemed to encircle the theater.

  129. Can't even remember what the title of the first movie was - we were 'service' kids, living on an Air Force base, and they had cheap movies & snacks for kids on Saturdays at the base theatre.   143. Oh my goodness you are all so YOUNG! First movie theatre experience for me was in the early 60's. Couldn't have been older than 10 years old. My next door neighbour and I walked to the theatre by ourselves - big day for us. John Wayne and Katherine O'Hara in some cattle drive movie. Thank you for this terrific memory.

  156. I don't think it was my first movie at the theatre. My mom and dad dropped us kids off at the movies while they had an anniversary dinner with a couple of their friends that had the same anniversary. I think we may had watched that movie a couple of times. It was the Sound of Music.
