  7. I love sheep. Lambs are the cutest. I raised sheep as a 4-H project when I was a kid. I got to keep the wool money. We never ate them. They became pets.

  17. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to take a road trip through parts of Texas. I went to a fabulous quilt shop in Bryan. They had quite a few pieces of fabric from Poppie Cotton.     My favorite barn animal would be the hens. They always are so nurturing towards their chicks. No matter how horrible the weather, the loving hens hold their wings out to protect their precious babies to hold them close to the hearts.

  39. My favorite farmhouse animal is a goat. We got 3 goats - one for each human kid. My daughter named hers Princess Ariel Diamond, LOL. Watching the goats makes me think of my kids that are now grown, but we still have one goat. She must be at least 10 years old now and still hanging on!

  121. I remember when I was a little girl we would go to my great grandparents' farm to see the baby chicks. My great grandfather called them peeps. They were so cute and fuzzy and have been my favorite farm animals ever since.

    We had one once when we lived in a farmhouse with a barn. He was great animal to teach the kids responsibility. He didn't get a name because the kids always knew we would eat him one day. I know! It sounds horrid. BUT, that pig was the best pork, ham, bacon that I have ever eaten. I believe it was because we cared for him with love - it made him sweet 😉

  146. My favorite farm animals are cattle. Every year I love watching the baby calves out my sewing room window. The small pasture there is where my husband puts the mamas and babies soon after they are born. Unfortunately, after calving season is all over they all get moved to bigger pastures and better grass areas.
