Greatest Hits - HQM Quilt 9

Well, it's the end of Week 9 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and today's finish is coming from 2020 :)  It's Scrappy, It's Low Volume, and It's super soft . . . here is the Greatest Hits Sampler quilt from my year of 2020 Sew Sampler Box's :)

So each month, I would receive a new Greatest Hits Sampler Block Card  in my Sew Sampler Box.  I decided from the start that I was going to do Low Volume Scrappy backgrounds, and then just try to keep the colors similar to the colors on the Block Card with an overall idea of keeping things "Soft".    I finished up 9 of the 12 blocks (I missed a few months when deadlines were crazy) and then sashed the blocks with some simple white on white polka dot prints and some fun low volume cornerstones.

After I finished up the quilt top,  I set it aside because I just didn't feel like it was very "cohesive".  When I looked at it, I saw several Fabric Choices that I wish I could have gone back and changed out.  I mean, its still soft and pretty, but they can't all be "My Favorite Quilt Ever" right ;)   So I am super grateful for this Marathon so that this quilt top could got finished!!!

And for the quilting, I decided on a simple meandering stitch.   Mainly because I hadn't done meandering in a long time, and thought it would just be fun to see how quilt I could quilt it.   And ya, It was fast!!!!  And I kept it to a medium size, and used a lofty batting so that not only is the quilt super soft colors, but it is super soft to snuggle with.

And now, I am happy to be sending this Greatest Hits quilt (along with several other quilts that have been on the shelf to long and just want to be loved) to this Wrap Ukraine With Quilts group.   And it just makes me so happy to know it will be a soft snuggle for someone in trying circumstances.  I think sending quilty hugs is one of the greatest things about making quilts!!!

And that is Quilt #9 - Greatest Hits ;)  9 Down and only 17 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)

And that is it for today, thanks for popping in to share this finish with me!!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!
