Sugar Pop N Change Quilt - With a Free PDF Pattern!!

Just a quick reminder - Everything in my ETSY Shop (including my new Fast & Fun Lap Quilts Book)  is 25% off , just in case you missed it with all the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Weekend :)

And with that . . .

Let's get to today's post. I am thrilled to be sharing this brand new Sugar Pop N Change quilt as well as a Free PDF Pattern for it!!! This quilt features the With A Flourish by Simple Simon and Company and is 2 1/2" Strip friendly, so you can grab a Rolie Polie/Jelly Roll and get stitching!!! .

Sugar Pop N' Change was one of the first tutorials I ever made, and it has always been a super popular one. I have been thinking of remaking it for some time, and when I saw With A Flourish, I knew it would be the perfect fabric line for this coin stacking quilt. I just love the happy vibrant colors, and the prints are just so great, from the delicate florals, to the awesome geometric and lines, it just makes for a stunning quilt!!!

The Sugar Pop N Change quilt is made with super basic piecing. You just make a stack of "coins" and then sash them. It goes together super fast and makes for a super fun geometric pattern that has lots of movement thanks to the rotation of the blocks. I just loved whipping it up :) And I actually made this quilt in a larger size than the original, and added lots and lots of size options in the Sugar Pop N Change PDF so you can make from a Baby Size to a King Size.

This quilt is such a fun way to show off so many pretty prints. And I loved that there was only 1 print that had a green background, that made it easy to pull it out and use it as the binding. It is the perfect way to finish it all up. And of course, the Riley White background just makes all of those happy colors pop. Where the "background" in this quilt is made of pretty skinny strips, I recommend using a solid or a basic that reads as one color, that way it really stands out against all those prints.

And as I mentioned, there is also a free PDF Download of this pattern and I included 6 size options, without any quilt math. The quilt I showed is the Lap size, and I have also made the baby size, and have plans to make a Picnic Size next :) To get the FREE PDF Sugar Pop N Change Pattern Download, just click here and download it ;)

And when it came time to quilt mine, I wanted to keep that floral vine feel, so I quilted all over loose feathers. This is such a fun design to quilt, and I love that it is not quite as dense so it will make it a great lap size quilt to snuggle up in ;) Sometimes it is just fun to keep it a little softer. And I used good ol' 402 Pearl So Fine for the perfect blending in white and the prints :)

And that is my Sugar Pop N Change quilt!! I hope you have enjoyed this post. Oh, and if you make your own Sugar Pop N Change quilt, I would love to it!!! you can share your quilts in any size with me on social media using hashtags #happyquiltingwithmc and #rileyblakedesigns and tagging @happyquiltingmc or email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com. 1. What a lovely quilt this pattern makes - thank you for your generosity! I give away 99% of what I make, and this pattern will make good use of all the scraps I've been storing away to make new quilts. Thanks so much! Deb E

  5. I love your quilt! I’m currently making one with the same fabric collection. I’m debating which backing fabric to go with. What did you choose?
