Shine Bright - HQM Quilt 23

It is Week 23 of the Happy Quilting Marathon and I know that it seems last minuite, but really I have had this quilt done for 3 days, I just didn't get to posting it now!!! But it's all good, because now both girls have new quilts on their beds and Josie loves her new Shine Bright Quilt!!!

When I started a quilt for Kami, that I shared last week, I also started one for Josie, as we had painted both of their rooms and needed matching bedspreads.   Well . . . 3 years later . . . they now have matching bedspreads for their new wall colors.  (So sad, but luckily, they still love me :)

I used Kate Spain's Bungalow fabric and paired it with a soft Kona Pink.  Both of the girls love pink, so having it as the background color in their quilts is fun as they aren't totally matchy- matchy, but they still go together ;)   I used my Shine Bright pattern from Charming Baby Quilts and used the Pattern Alterations to make it twin size.  It finished at 74" x 92" so perfect for her twin size bed.

And Jocelyn's favorite quilting pattern is swirls, but I really wanted to make the center stars stand out a little more.  So I did swirls in all the rest of the quilting area, and highlighted the stars with fun wiggly lines.   She loves it and I love that it makes the design pop all the more ;)

And talk about yummy texture!!!   And yes, it has already been snuggled and loved, and asked if it has to stay on the bed or if she can build a fort with it :)  Well loved!!!   That's what quilts are made for ;)

And that is Quilt #23 - All the Trimmings ;)  23 Down and only 3 more quilts to go in the Happy Quilting Marathon :)   Getting so Close!!!

And that is it for today, thanks for popping in to share this finish with me!!!

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!

  2. The Kona Pink is so soft and pretty with Kate Spain's Fabric. Beautiful quilt - and love that it is being used - especially for fort making :) - Love that!
