Fast & Fun Sampler Quilt Along - Week 8

But before we get to Week 8 . . . we need to pick the Week 7 Winner of the Layer Cake of your Choice  from Lou Lou's Fabric Shop.  And the winner is . . . mymosdell !!!!   I have messaged you.

WEEK 7 - PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

It's the eighth week of making blocks for the Fast & Fun Sampler Quilt Along and this week we are putting it all together!!!  And just a reminder,  I am making 2 versions of the quilt, so you only need to share one quilt top ;)     You will need your copy of Fast & Fun Lap Quilts (which is available in both hard copy or e-book format)  for the piecing instructions as well as the Week 8 - Putting it all Together Pattern  supplemental directions for making your blocks ;)  I am so excited to see your Quilt Tops!!

And you also get to work on your pieced quilt back, using our row we made last week.  Once again, you will want to use the Week 8 - Putting it all Together Pattern  for supplemental directions to make your quilt back.  

WEEK 7 - SHARE YOUR QUILT TOP

And just like that, you are done with Week 8!!  And now, you get to share your progress!!!   Lets see your week 8 Quilt Top and enter to win one of the Grand Prizes!!!!    Here's how:

If you use Facebook or Instagram  be sure and use the Hashtags #fastandfunsampler and #fastandfunsamplerqal  in your post. And you can tag me @happyquiltingmc as well, if you like ;)    

If you don't use social media, no worries.   Just email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com and I will post a picture for your with the hashtags included so you will be eligible for prizes as well.  

WEEK 8 - GRAND PRIZES

 We have made it to the end!!!  Isn't this so exciting!!!!   Everyone that finishes their quilt top between May 24th - June 7th will be eligible to win one of three amazing Grand Prizes of  $75.00 Gift Certificates to Fat Quarter Shop!!!  Thank you to Fat Quarter Shop for these generous grand prizes to help keep us all motivated to keep up!!  So be sure and share your Quilt Top, you have 2 weeks to get it done :)  

    

THE PARADE

Now, as just mentioned, you only have to have your quilt top done to enter into the grand prize drawing . . . However,  I wanted to encourage you to finish these quilts and not set them in a pile of "to be quilted" so I am planning a Parade for the 7th of June :)  The parade will show off all quilted and bound Fast & Fun Sampler Quilts!!  

So, how do you finish up those quilts??? 

Baste It, Quilt It, and Bind It!!  I know, I make it sound all so simple.  If you are new to quilting, and need some help with these last few steps, you can see my Video Tutorials that go over the basics of how to do this ;)  Also, there are some helpful free motion quilting tutorials if you are stuck on how you want to quilt your project ;)  

Once you have your quilt finished it is ready to be showcased in the Parade.  To be in the Parade, please send me an email at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com  with your favorite finished Fast & Fun Sampler Quilt picture attached as well as your name the way you would like it listed with your photo, where you are from, and a Link if you would like me to link your picture . . .  Blog, Instagram, or Facebook will work great :)    You can email me anytime from now until the evening of June 6th and I will get you added to the Parade!!!  

I am so looking forward to seeing everyone's finishes!!!  It has been so fun to see all of your quilt blocks each week and I can't wait to see them all quilted and bound  ;)   The Grand Prize winners will be announced on June 7th at the end of the amazing parade filled with all of your beautiful quilts.!!!  I can't wait!!!
