Today is the first official day of "summer" for my kiddo's, and they are so excited!!! Me, I have mixed feelings about it, tee hee hee. I love summer because we can spend so much time together and make lots of amazing memories, but the days just seem to slip by in the summer and ya, there is always less time to sew. And speaking of less time . . . I have had a lot of bitter sweet moments lately as our oldest, Spencer Jacob Corry, Graduated!!!

And he Graduated 4 times!!!! Ya, this kid has been busy :) He graduated from Cedar High School as well as Success Academy. Success Academy is a charter school that Spencer attended half of the day. So Cedar High School in the morning (which is the same school his dad and grandpa went to, so great) , and Success in the afternoon. Success is an Early College program, so he also graduated from Southern Utah University, with an associates degree at the end of High School. SUU is my Alma Mater, and because I served on the Alumni Board, I get to help with graduation and got to welcome him to the SUU Alumni right after he crossed the stage to get his diploma. Yup, that was a tender moment for me!!! And we are so super proud that while he was doing all of this rigorous education, he still made time for his beliefs, graduating from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Seminary Program. 4 Years and 4 Graduations, just Wow!!!!

And the big joke was, after 4 graduations, he now has 4 empty diploma cases. Yup, there is going to be some happy mail for this kid as each of his diplomas arrive :)
What an amazing 4 years High School has been for Spencer and we are just so very proud of him!!! He is now preparing to serve a 2 year Mission in Frankfurt Germany for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He leaves in July, so I am just soaking up all of the moments before he is gone for 2 years!!! When he returns from his Mission, he plans to attend Southern Utah University to get a bachelors in Biology and then go on to Medical School as he wants to be a Genetic Doctor.
Yup, all the emotions, and especially oh so very proud of this kid!!
We love you Spencer and are so excited for your next big steps in life ;)
Thanks for sticking with me through a more personal post today. No quilts, but I just had to share this huge milestone for our son and our family ;) For those of you who have gone through this, does the emotional rollercoaster get any easier with the next one??
